| GAS PROJECT '07
GAS launched in November of 06’ the first of a series of exhibitions curated by Sense Assault Studio, showcasing a diverse array of artists who were all killing it in their chosen field.Last year we saw the exhibition feature celebrated industry creatives alongside exceptionally talented newcomers in a mash-up of mediums and approaches. Showcasing graphic design, illustration, photography, sculpture, film, street art and graffiti by some of the most exciting, unique, talented and influential artists from around the globe. With no formal structure, the GAS exhibition promotes a sense of community within the contemporary art scene. A lack of a tangible theme or genre focus was inspiration behind the name GAS. GAS is a platform for people to showcase their talent and work. Opening Night The opening night of GAS is a party for industry, media, contemporary art patrons and friends. The night will feature live DJ's, free drinks, artwork sales, product give aways and of course, the premiere of our international guest artists who is still yet to be annouced. Typical attendance consists of artists, design/fashion labels, journalists and socialites with a taste for contemporary art. Please note that GAS does not charge an admission fee for people to attend the exhibition. Also 3-4 days prior to the opening night, we will be running a street viral campaign which will consist of constructing visual instillations around Sydney and projecting graphics on buildings around Sydney.
Cities and Dates The GAS exhibition will be kicked off on September the 5th in Sydney, at Global Gallery. Stay tuned for finalised details about the Melbourne show. The exhibition will run over 2-3 days. Opening night; will be open to the public, during the days it will be open to allow universities, colleges and Tafe's to bring their students to view the exhibition as well as being open to the public. We have current interest to also take the show to Melbourne for an opening night, which will be held a week after the Sydney show. It will be a slightly smaller show, but 80% of the artworks will be there too.
